What is the Soura KSEB solar subsidy project?

The Soura KSEB Solar subsidy project is an initiative by the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). Households in Kerala who install rooftop solar panels can receive up to 40% subsidy under this programme, and are also likely to get at least a twofold return on their investment.

For instance, if a 3 KW plant is installed, upto 600 to 720 units can be generated in two months, wherein the same amount of power if bought from KSEB would cost the customer around Rs 4,500/-.

Let's take into note that the actual cost of a 3 kW project is Rs.1,90,500/-, however, with a MNRE government KSEB subsidy of Rs. 57,383, the customer's payable amount is just Rs. 1,33,117. Thereby the customer gets the benefit of the subsidy upfront without any delays or risks.

KSEB Rooftop Solar Subsidy Scheme 2023-24

With the increasing electricity rates and there being a huge demand for electricity in the market, KSEB Solar Subsidy Scheme is an initiative by the government with the main motive to make people adopt other natural sources to fulfill their electricity needs.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has planned to set up 38 GW of rooftop solar projects. And the KSEB is providing subsidies for their domestic consumers of electricity.

Consumers can install any one of the government-provided two models. However, Kerala has been allotted 50 MW under this scheme, and once the department receives 75,000 applications then they will close the program. So, you need to be quick and apply for the scheme as soon as possible.
